How your data is used, and who it's shared with

Your data is shared only with the following service providers, solely to run the app. It is never used for advertising or sold to anyone.

  • Google (Gemini API) receives your written answers and voice recordings to transcribe speech, evaluate your answers, and generate personalized feedback and new practice tasks.
  • ElevenLabs receives AI-generated text (not your personal data) to narrate Listening practice audio clips.
  • Supabase hosts our database, handles authentication, and stores your voice recordings and account data. Data is hosted in the EU (Ireland).
  • RevenueCat receives an anonymous account identifier and your purchase records to manage your subscription.
  • Apple / Google process subscription payments and deliver push notifications.
  • Expo relays push notifications to your device using your push token.
  • Resend sends your account-verification email.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone beyond the providers listed above, who only use it to provide the service on our behalf.

Your controls

  • Delete your account: in the app, open Profile, then Danger zone, then Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, your profile, and your stored voice recordings. This cannot be undone.
  • Sign out: Profile, then Sign out.
  • Notifications: turn them off anytime in your device settings.
  • You can request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it by emailing enxhi.minaj@gmail.com.

Data retention

We keep your account and practice data until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes your profile and stored audio recordings from our systems.

Children

ABCitizen is intended for adults preparing for language certificates such as the Finnish YKI test and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. When we do, we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app.
